What we collect when someone clicks a link
For each click we record the time, an approximate location derived from the IP address (country, region, city), the browser and device type, the referring website, and the preferred language. The IP address itself is widened to its network, combined with the user agent, and put through a keyed one-way hash. The result cannot be reversed and is useless outside this installation. Raw addresses are discarded.
Why we do it that way
Link owners need to know how many distinct people clicked. That requires recognising a repeat visitor, but it does not require knowing who they are. Hashing gives us the first without the second.
Do Not Track
If your browser sends a Do Not Track header, we count the click and store nothing about you — no location, no device, no referrer.
Cookies
We set one first-party cookie to recognise your device for the free link allowance, and a session cookie once you sign in. No third-party or advertising cookies are used.
Retention and deletion
Individual click records are pruned on a schedule; the daily totals behind your charts are kept. Deleting your account removes your links, their analytics and your API keys immediately and irreversibly.
